Last week was intense for many of you, and we were deeply moved by your personal shares. To honor that, we want to share one of our own. We were traveling across the country to visit our son and grandchildren — something we’d been looking forward to for months. But just as we arrived at the airport, news broke that a severe storm over Dallas had grounded all flights. The airport was closed.
It was a holiday weekend in the U.S., flights were oversold, and rebooking seemed impossible. We considered everything — driving hours to another airport, even making the 24-hour drive ourselves. At one point, we laughed and said, “If we leave now, we’ll get there by…” Then we paused. We took a breath. Instead of forcing a solution, we returned to our intention: what mattered most was simply being with our family. Within minutes of shifting our focus, a new flight opened. We rebooked easily and still arrived the next day — in nearly the same timeframe as if we had pushed and strained.
We had written last week that slowing down helps us get ahead. That moment was our reminder.
This week, life may ask the same of you. We’re entering a season of closures, endings, and detours. Like our travel story, you may find yourself tempted to push through barriers. Instead, the universe is inviting you to prioritize your highest intentions over immediate control. We are being prepared for a world that responds more to flow than to force. Collaboration with life is now the path of power.
